Point Loma Actors is a performance based acting company. We are focused on the development of the individual actor, beginners are encouraged to join.

The Directors of Point Loma Actors have been active in achieving the goal of producing live theatre for more than 30 years. They are engaged in the training, development, and production of live theatre presentations with a focus on the actor and the community.
We believe that the following core strengths have positioned the company to achieve our goal of outstanding teacher and producer of live theatre for the actor and the community.  An experienced management team with proven operating, development and production skills and over 125 productions completed and performed with award winning producers, directors, designers and teachers.

David Sein - Managing/Artistic Director

David has been a producer and director of theatre for the past 25 years. He is the founder of Point Loma Actors Theatre. Hannah Ryan - Director of Education/Actor

Hannah Ryan, Director of Education, began working with Point Loma Actors Workshop in February of 2007. With PLAW she has since instructed/directed   Moliere's The Forced Marriage, Shakespeare'sA Midsummer Night’s Dream on the green,  Only in New York, Greater Tuna, Polish Joke, Food for Thought and two sessions of The “New Actors Workshop".  Other San Diego credits include:  Assistant Director A Midsummer Night's Dream-La Jolla Playhouse, Stage Manager 2010 Pop Tour: Chile Pod-La Jolla Playhouse, Stage Manager  2009 POP Tour: Miss Electricity-La Jolla Playhouse, Production Assistant Tobacco Road-La Jolla Playhouse, Teaching Assistant 2008 Summer Shakespeare Intensive-The Old Globe, Director Gianni Schicchi-Point Loma Opera Theatre, Stage Manager The Magic Flute- Point Loma Opera Theatre Music Department. Hannah holds a degree in Theatre Arts from Point Loma Nazarene University.

Jill Costanzo - Director of Junior Theatre/Actor

Jill Costanzo, Director of PLA Junior Theatre, is the co-founder of the Manhattan Playhouse in Lakeside California and has been producing and teaching “Children’s Theater” in San Diego for the past twenty years.  She is known for her ability to tailor studies according to each child’s needs, as well as, her positive results with introverted children.   She has developed a unique program for the Point Loma Actors Junior Theatre and has an awesome program for kids to learn, experience and play.



John H Cochran - Producer/Director/Actor

John H. Cochran, Professor of Theatre Arts, has over forty-five years of experience in theatre, film and television as a teacher, actor director and producer. Mr. Cochran taught acting and directing at Stanford University, Palo Alto CA, Yale University, New Haven CT, Biola University, Los Angeles, CA and Westmont College, Santa Barbara CA.  Since 1964 Mr. Cochran has directed over 60 productions in the modern realism genre, 21 productions of verse drama and 17 musical productions. John has also played many roles on stage as a member of both the Stanford and Yale Repertory Theatres. His former students include Danny Glover, John Tuturo, Francis Mc Dormand and Angela Basset. John’s film credits include The Extraordinary Seaman and the classic Hang ‘Em High, and his guest starring roles on television include The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and The Name of the Game. Love Letters with Martin Sheen, Lynn Redgrave, George C. Scott and Trish Van Devere. The Misanthrope, Of Mice and Men, and Chekov’s Three Sisters are among John’s numerous directing credits. Recently John starred in the first highly acclaimed African American production of PROOF at the famed Goodman Theatre in Chicago. Mr. Cochran has been a member of the Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity since 1961.

Terry Nicholson - Director

Mr. Nicholson joins the Point Loma Actors Theatre company after a distinguished teaching career at University of California Riverside, San Francisco State University, the University of Wisconsin and, most recently, College of the Desert in Palm Desert, CA.  His directing credits include; Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Death of a Salesman, A Chorus Line, Fiddler on the Roof, The Man Who Came To Dinner, and A Streetcar Named Desire. Recently Terry directed The Glass Menagerie at Point Loma Actors Theatre. 

Patty Sleeter - Producer/Stage Manager/Actor

Patty’s productions for Point Loma Actors Theatre include: How I learned to Drive, Stage Manager: Greater Tuna, Stage Manager/Actor: Only in New York, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romantic Fools, Woman: Sometimes a Word Unspoken, Stage Manager: Driving Miss Daisy, Sylvia,A Tuna Christmas, and Glass Menagerie.

Eva Risman - Producer/Actor

Eva began working with Point Loma Actors Theatre in September of 2008. Recent acting credits include Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well, Le Mariage Forcé, Woman:Sometimes A Word Unspoken, Romantic Fools.  She has also stage-managed and assistant directed several productions with PLA. Other credits include M. Butterfly -John Van Duzer Theatre (HSU).  Eva is currently pursuing her B.S. in Marine Biology from Humboldt State University.

Shelley Benoit - Actor

Shelley debut with the Point Loma Actors in “Romantic Fools”.  Since, she has also appeared in “Fuddy Meers” and “A Tuna Christmas”.  Motherhood led her to stand-up comedy where she performed at the Comedy Store and the Improv and, most recently, with the West Coast Funnies in Carlsbad.  She has dibbled in local TV and dabbled in film and video production. Shelley is a native San Diegan and is an active volunteer with her kids' school and in the community.

Greg Henninger - Director/Actor

Greg has been doing theater since the 3rd grade when he stared in A Wonderful Life, ever since then he has performed in over 50 shows, from High School to College, he recently graduated from Point Loma University with a degree in Theater and Media Communications.  Greg has been with Point Loma Actors both as a teacher and actor for the last 3 years, he expresses how proud he is to work alongside truly talented and wonderful people.

John Lee - Technical Director/Actor

John is a new comer to the world of theatre. He joined Point Loma Actors in 2007 as a workshop student and branched out to assist in the technical aspects of theatre as well as performing on stage.  John performed in Tuna Texas, Tuna Christmas, Fuddy Meers, Polish Joke and took part in the Summer Shakespeare shows Midsummer's Night Dream, Forced Marriage and Twelveth Night.  John's technical contributions include mixing and operating the audio for numerous shows as well as assisting in set and prop construction.

Ken Light - Set Design/Actor

"Crawdad Kenny" a founding member of Point Loma Actors has always had a burning desire for show business. Ken played a limping man in Point Loma Actors production of "Fuddy Meers" he performed in Greater Tuna as Bertha, in A Midsummer Night's Dream as Oberon, a sheep loving fool in "Romantic Fools" and an array of characters in "Polish Joke"


Aaron Hatch - Public Relations/Web Design/Actor

Aaron, born in the suburbs of Los Angeles, grew up around people in the industry and aspired to be an actor himself.  After attending a workshop with Sharon Bialy, CSA he then pursued commercial acting attaining representation with the Sarah Bennett Agency in Hollywood.  An opportunity to work in the healthcare industry was presented so he set aside his acting endeavors and focused on his career which brought him to San Diego.  He returns to the theatre after twenty years of life's experiences from which to draw upon.
